Crysis

Postby vandal » Fri Jun 15, 2007 2:06 am

This might be old news to some but, anybody interested about crysis, the new game from Crytek (makers of farcry).

You need a beast of a PC to run it but here is the link:
http://www.incrysis.com/

It requires a dx10 graphics card so it will not be cheap

Very nice...

I may just have to get this, at least to justify my recent upgrades and give me my FPS fix until UT3 comes out late this year.

Well you are gonna have to switch to vista sooner or later ( i'll wait for all the kinks get sorted out) :)

And gaming for now... well i'll stick to the xbox 360
It has alot of promising titles for it. I'm still deciding what my future gaming rig should be

I really haven't had any trouble with Vista, but I couldn't recommend switching from a working XP machine to Vista. BUT, I also wouldn't recommend putting XP on a new machine.

For gaming, that is. For work, stick with XP for now...

I guess..... but I'm not sold on this idea.

Unless you really need dx10 or really need the windows live games....
From what I've read, I don't feel comfortable recommending Vista at all right now. The only gotcha to that is the expense. I figure in 6 months Vista might be more palatable, but would you spend the $ on xp just to spend the $ on Vista in 6 months ...............

Hmmm.... good 'ol M$

On my next work pc. I'm going to instal Ubuntu.

Well if im gonna buy a new computer it's gonna come with vista anyway right? Not that i want vista, im just saying there is really nothing i can do about it and we are all gonna have to cope with "M$" and buy their damn operating systems ( unless you go Mac)

If you buy a pre-built one yes. I know Dell is claiming to still sell XP but just this past week I tried to help a friend buy a Core2Duo pc from dell with XP and was not able to.

We ordered the parts from newegg instead. He got about twice the PC for the $ and with XP on it as well. I agree at some point Vista will be the only viable choice, but for me... it is not anytime soon. Maybe for valid reasons, maybe I'm just too fricking stubborn to give in at this point.

Vista's the same price as XP. (Assuming you'd use the same level of hardware in either case.)

True. One thing for sure is that if I were building a pc today I would buy the best dx10 video card I could afford.

yea but i mean the price of buying the operating system itself instead of having it preloaded on to a factory built computer.
