Update on Monday 8/20
In case you didn't notice, there are some major updates going in on Monday. Of particular note:
For Emi & Cael, captain changes: http://lotro.turbine.com/article/395
For Vael & any other hunter: http://lotro.turbine.com/article/396
PvMP for everyone (lvl 40+): http://lotro.turbine.com/article/392
FYI, a reputation grind: http://lotro.turbine.com/article/394
...and general overview: http://lotro.turbine.com/article/393
Personally, I'm looking forward to the captain changes and am curious about the PvMP stuff. Of course, I'll only have Monday evening to mess around with it before I head off for vacation, but you guys can show me around when I get back...

To be honest, I haven't played my hunter or captain enough to notice a big change in power consumption, but I know that the additional abilities are a blast.
It was easy to scoot around various parts of the game world before as my hunter, but with the additional recall cities and bind points outside the major instances, I feel like I can get anywhere I need with no hassle. The snares are pretty nice, but I just got my first bow buff and have yet to try it. I expect a nice boost, but nothing earth-shattering.
The biggest thing for my captain was the lowering of the level required to summon folks -- I made a big push to 40 when I heard about it and it's very handy. Otherwise, it seems like the banners are a good alternative to the herald in big fights, but I'll stick with my herald for most situations.
Still waiting for some burglar skill beyond level 41...
